My Gig Girl Dairy with Gracenote

GRACENOTE: "A  Band to Look Back"
Ronaele De Dios

Time flies so fast...
Gracenote is 12 years now,it seems that it was just yesterday since the day they joined the "NESCAFE Soundskool" battle of the bands competition last 2008. By the way, I was given a chance to watch their performance in "NESCAFE  Soundskool" together with my favorite band 6Cyclemind and I was very overwhelmed see both wonderful bands sharing stage together. That was really lit!

There were 13 finalist in NESCAFE Soundskool 2008 and during that time, I was supporting 3 of them; first is Gracenote, second is Letter Day Story and third is Hooligans. These are

Aside from Hooligans and Letter Day Story, Gracenote is really my bet to win the spot in Soundskool before, regardless if they shared stage with 6Cyclemind or not, I REALLY LIKE THEM.
#Nostalgia alert, I miss those old days as a fanatic girl... Time really fly so fast!
Anyway, I got a trivia for you guys. Did you know that Tatsi Jamnague's sister is the vocalist of Hooligans Band, who's also one of the finalists in Nescafe Soundskool 2008? Therefore they're the batchmate of Gracenote and now Kuya Tatsi is part of the GRACENOTE band. What a SMALL WORLD, isn't it?
(Just sharing the trivia for those who doesn't know it, yet. If you're aware about it then ignore my trivia. #SKL)

Now, Gracenote is one of the most finest and successful band in the industry. They collaborated with  many other well known artist and sometimes they front act in different international concert held in the Philippines. The band is composed of Eunice Jorge (Vocalist), Tatsi Jamnague's (Guitarist), Jazz Jorge (Bassist) and Ej Pitchay (Drummer). Their former members were Alvin Ortiz and Chen Pangan.

The band never failed to showcase an extraordinary performances in their gigs and other appearances. They make people sing, jump and rock n' roll with their best hits:

They also have series of music videos and I had an experienced joining as cameo in one of their MV for the song," Minsan Lang Naman". That was the longest time that I was able to bond with the band. Here I go again reminiscing old memories...

The band also attends different radio and TV guestings. Sometimes I watch them live in RX Concert Serier at RX 93.1's radio station but most of the time I watch their gigs in the bar or mall shows.

My Gig Girl Diary with Callalily

Reminisce the Moments with CALLALILY
Ronaele De Dios

 at Jack TV Event, Metrowalk

CALLALILY?

No they're not the flower,
that was  named after a Greek word "Calla" which means beautiful,

but YES they make beautiful songs.

They're also not associated with Hera-the Greek goddess,

but YES they performed like Greek gods on stage.

They don't depict Virgin Mary that symbolizes purity,

but YES they showcase the purity of their talents and skills.

and YES! They flourish like the blossoms in the garden.

Along with their blooming journey in the industry they already received different achievements and they were able to create 5 amazing albums like: Destination XYZ (2006), Fisheye (2008), Callalily (2009), Flower Power (2012) and Greetings from Callalily (2015). My Callalista Story...

While I was on my path in searching the live performances of their brother band-6Cyclemind, I met Kuya Alden Acosta, my classmate was his neighbor during that time and he was the one who introduced us to the Acosta family. We (my best friend) go to Kuya Alden's house everyday looking forward to talk to him and share things about music and bands, this was the start of my Callalista story.

I started following Callalily in 2007 when Kuya Alden Acosta took us in their gigs at Greenhills, San Juan and Highway Hills, Mandaluyong (the band got 2 events during that day and we are with the Acosta Family), that marks my second gig in my entire fan girl life. I didn't expect that I will meet other fans (Callalista and Minders) in the events and we exchanged contact numbers. That was the day, that it feels like I found my happiness in life and that is to become an avid fanatic of the Rock n'Roll world. Thanks to Kuya Alden for bringing us in those events and thank to Callalily for inspiring us (Callalilista).

I can only clearly remember my first gig (with 6Cyclemind) and my second gig (with Callalily), I actually have a notebook before where I jut down my gig experiences when I was in high school, but I wasn't able to continue doing it during my college days and working days.

at Metrowalk during Jack TV Event

I really never thought that I will become a fan girl of the different OPM bands after that second gig (with callalily) and I've been following them for 14 years now.  Through the years of my exploration in the OPM Band world, I didn't expect that this was a diverse industry where you can encounter many other bands and artist that will also influence and inspire people.

Second Listers Day at SM North

In my 14 years of being a fan girl of the OPM Bands, thirteen years of it was spared being a Callalista. I had so many unforgettable moments with the band and I always enjoy attending their gigs and listers day(s). Listers day- was a day for Callalistas to get together with the Callalily band and that's the chance of the fans to know more things about the band. I actually want to share many more stories and experiences with Callalily, but this acknowledgement blog is not enough to elaborate them all.

Last time, February 3,2020, I attended the radio guesting of the band and I felt very emotional when they mention that they're already 15 years now. I couldn't stop not to get teary because I remember all my great experiences with the bands and couldn't imagine, that my effort as a fan was paid off because until now the band is still not tired of sharing their music to us (listeners/Callalistas).I really wish that the band will never end because like the lyrics in their song, MAGBALIK: "Tulad ng mundong hindi tumitigal sa pag-ikot, pag-ibig di mapapagod. Tulad ng ilog na hindi tumitigil sa pag-agos, pag-ibig di matatapos". WE, their fans will also never stop loving and supporting them until their FINAL SONG.

Thank you so much CALLALILY!

My Gig Girl Diary with 6cyclemind

My favorite band: "6cyclemind"
Ronaele De Dios

Have you heard the songs Sige, Trip and Sandalan? These are the only few hit songs of the band,6cyclemind.

RX Radio Station

6cyclemind- is a Filipino band composed of Tutti Caringal (Vocalist), Rye Sarmiento (Rhythm Guitarist), Bob Cañamo (Bass Guitarist), Herbert Hernandez (Lead Guitarist) and Vic Aquino (Drummer). Their past members are Ney Dimaculangan, Chuck Isidro and Gilbert Magat. The name "6cyclemind" comes from the five members plus their manager, Darwin Hernandez of Soupstar Entertainment. Collectively, they all contribute to composing, arranging and brainstorming, which is a continuous cycle in their creation of music.

How did the band started?
Chuck Isidro was the former lead guitarist of Afterimage. When Afterimage disbanded, Isidro worked in the recording company. During his stay, he signed up a group managed by Darwin Hernandez where he met Ryan "Rye" Sarmiento, Roberto "Bob" Cañamo, Gilbert "Gibbz" Magat and Rhoneil "Ney" Dimaculangan. Isidro and Hernandez agreed to form a band with them, which became 6cyclemind. Magat was then later replaced by Tutti Caringal of the band Protein Shake.

Star Mall Mandaluyong

The band is existing for more than 15 years now, along their journey they already released six albums, such as: Permission to Shine, Panorama, Home, Fiesta: Magsasaya Ang Lahat, Project: 6cyclemind and Good by Sunday. And they also have more than 20 singles from these albums. Aside from that they also gained different nominations and awards.

RX Radio Station

Now, the band remains to spread their music for their listeners and most especially for the fans (Minders). They also continue playing in various events, gigs, concerts and  tours.

My Minder Story...
It was a dream come true when I first saw my favorite band 6cyclemind at Umagang Kay Ganda, 14 years ago when my school in High School went there to become an audience and that day marks my first ever unforgettable moments with the band.

That was like a fairy tale story for me, I didn't expect that the band was there in the venue and I was very astonished when I saw them. I couldn't move from the place where I was sitting, I was like a freezing human and feels like it was a fantasy, because finally I can watch my idol's live performance and during that time, I was given a chance to talk to them in person. I consider this as one of my happiest moment and my first gig in my entire fan girl life. They are actually the first band that I saw in person and they are the reason why I entered the fan girl world of OPM bands. This was the start of my gig girl diary and rest was an amazing history.

Before, I regularly attend their gigs when I was still a student. They became my inspiration in my studies, their songs motivates me a lot and their performances energizes me.I even tried writing songs because of them. Now, that I am already working, I maybe not attending their gigs regularly but I rest assured that they are still my favorite band and I will always be thankful for all the wonderful moments with them. Thank you very much, 6CYCLEMIND!

Honestly, I still want to share more stories and moments with the band but for 14 years of following them I really have LOTS of memories to share and this appreciation blog is not enough to tell them all.

I just hope that 6cyclemind will never stop making songs cause I will never get tired of listening to their music.

POSTSCRIPT
(I know this is not a letter but I'm gonna put a PS)
I've been supporting different OPM bands for 14 years now and I will never get tired of doing this forever, as long as their music keeps going.

The bands are my strength and my weakness, in short there will be no RONA without them. They always  help me get unwind and they always make me feel grateful as a fan. I love them all from the bottom of my hypothalamus, WALANG IWANAN!

ROCK ON!
